Satyam Fashion Institute Graduating Show 2016 - Global Fashion Street

The Graduating Fashion Show of Satyam Fashion Institute-VISTA 2016 presented the collection of its budding designers at the capital last week.

The designs that denoted beauty, purity, clarity and royalty, were a great mix of creativity and hard work put together by the graduating designers. The students went through two tasking months to bring out their designs to its final look; a journey that included finalizing designs, fabrics, embroideries and the entire presentation for the graduating show.

The students worked in groups of two or three and were mentored by Dr Mitali Goswami, Neetu Malhotra and ace designer Niket Mishra, who consistently helped them throughout the development of their ranges.

Interestingly, to test the look of the range the students were made to create muslin toils of all the design in their collection thus eliminating any mistakes. They experimented with a variety of materials to bring their designs to life, using both traditional handicraft techniques and progressive technology.

The enthusiastic, young and budding designers from the umbrella of Satyam Fashion Institute presented their collections under various themes and the winners for the show were-

Best Research Work 2016– Two Worlds Collide by Athira, Prakshi & Kriti

Best Range Portfolio of the Year 2016- Teri Parchhayi by Ruchi and Arfa

Best Surface Exploration 2016- Pratibimb by Priyananka Chaudhary and Arushi Khandelwal

Best Commercially Collection 2016- Alluring Elite by Manisha Verma, Komal Priya and Nikhita Gupta

Avant Garde Collection 2016- Memories of Tonight by Deepali and Akanksha

Best Designer of the Year 2016- One Night in New York by Aditi Aggarwal and Sanjam Kaur

Best Muslin Toils Collection Award 2016- Ahilya by Anshu Kumari, Anjali Roy and Apurna Sagar

And a special mention to the collection An attitude for Indian Weaves because Global Fashion Street picks it up for its collection, stitches and designs.

The show was choreographed by Rachna Sikka and make-up was done by Neeti Luthra.

Satyam Fashion Institute, Noida (NCR), affiliated to SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai, is an all girls college and has been established with the vision to promote and nurture the student’s creative minds. It provides both Undergraduate as well as Postgraduate courses in Design and gives outstanding learning environment to its students. Spearheaded by its Director General Manjulika Gautam( Rtd IAS officer), Principal Dr Mitali C Goswami and Fashion Design Department Head & Show Coordinator Neetu Malhotra, the Institute does have a great infrastructure and apt faculty.
