It’s the time of year when your denims push back the cottons and you are ready to flaunt your blues! While every season we feel, the wardrobe has no ‘latest’ style, the fact is denims, were never out of style, whatever cut, colour, or style it may be in.
You can make your old pair look stylish and trendy enough if you just keep in mind these few style tips. The mantra lies in pairing it well.
Straight fits– for a casual look roll 2-3 inches at the bottom and wear your sneakers. However, for chic style, roll it in half inches to reach ankle and wear a formal shoe or heels. Nothing like if you can combine the look with a causal cotton belt for casuals and a 2inch wide leather belt for semi-formals.
Tapered or slim fit– you can recreate a new look with the slim fits by getting them trimmed till ankle length and letting the threads loose. Pair them with flashy leather boots or fleet in bright colours.
Denims and leather– the classic style of black leather jacket, white shirt, and black belt with black leather boots/heels/courtroom shoes, the look has been in style for as long as you can remember. From Madonna, Claudia Schieffer and JLO, to Henry Ford, Tom Cruise and Jason Statham they all love the look. No brownie points for guessing the results in shades of brown and beige!
Rip it right– pick any old pair and snap it into shorts or just rip it just around the knee or shin. If you are bold enough you can even create a ladder effect on any leg. Make sure to stitch the corners around so that the threads don’t go loose and make it worse after wash.
Old and new– pair your oldest jeans with a brand new jersey or pullover and see the effect. The contrast is extremely stylish and the season calls for rigged and old look in denims in any case!
Deep blue denims– pair your jeans with denim shirt or denim jacket/vest and accessorize with brown leather belt and shoes. Know that flared bottom looks great with only heels and boots and straight cuts were meant for casual look.
