Ten coveted FDCI designers including Abraham & Thakore, Anju Modi, Gaurav Jai Gupta, JJ Valaya, Payal Jain, Rahul Mishra, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Bal and Samant Chauhan have come together under the umbrella of Inclusion Beyond Boundaries, a show especially designed in Khadi for the differently-abled and fulfill their dreams of walking the ramp with professional models.
The pure, simple and versatile form of Khadi will be showcased in this fashion extravaganza where FDCI and Tamana get together for this annual fashion event, scheduled April 30, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, New Delhi, the hospitality partner for this event.
For the last 10 years, the NGO Tamana has been organising the show with the support of the fashion fraternity in their individual capacities. This year, the event is being executed in association with FDCI and has received appreciation and recognition from the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari, Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and Minister of State for Skill Development, Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
Dr. Shyama Chona, Founder and President, Tamana, said “Life has many colours; together they make the rainbow. For us the colours represent the diversity in human beings and the rainbow signifies an inclusive society which embraces all diversity. The dream of ‘Tamana’ is to make the world appreciate and accept this diversity so that the journey of life becomes pleasant for all. We hope to meet our aspiration with the help of Mr. Sunil Sethi who is equally sensitive to the cause. Tamanas’ annual fashion show has over the years depicted that fashion is inclusive; it does not discriminate, even the disadvantaged can imbibe the latest fashion and fulfill their desires and aspirations of looking good and fashionable.”
Sunil Sethi, President FDCI said, “We respect diversity and inclusion and it is an honour to partner with Tamana for a landmark event like this. I would also like to take this opportunity to praise Dr. Shayama Chona for her commendable and committed work towards the cause.”
Talking about the show, he added, “Our designers will make craft soaked ensembles in the fabric of the nation – Khadi and make the dreams of the differently-abled come true by encouraging them through the lexicon of style.”
The Australian High Commissioner to India, Her Excellency Ms. Harinder Sindhu will be the guest of honour for the event along with other distinguished guests.
