The tingling romance of a Casanova, Nick Ferrante engaged to one of the richest bachelorette meets a simple yet stylish singer, Terry McKay aboard a cruise from Europe to America. While he tries to romance her, he is taken aback by her sheer smartness, beauty and wit. While Terry knows Nick to be a famous Casanova she tries to stay away and the more Terry avoids Nick, he falls for her, simply because he is used to girls chasing him all the time. The movie has some very crisp dialogues and amazing comic scenes coupled with exciting romance.
A better version of a Mills & Boons story, An affair to Remember is a classic film one can get lost watching. The movie is an experience in itself. The two part with a promise to meet in six months and be independently settled by then to be able to support their relationship and how in the end Nick Ferrante goes out to find Terry and discovers the reason for her not making it to Empire State Building that day is analeptic.

Director Leo McCarey, first made Love affair in the year 1939 with actors Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne which was quite a hit but his own remake in 1957 with Cary Grant and Deborrah Kerr, as, An Affair to Remember, became legendary.
