With all the amazing movies ready to hit the theatres this year, 2023 might just be a little heavy on your pocket. With more than nine movies lined up for release, the year 2023 is massive for superhero movies. The first release for this is the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantuamnia that is releasing on 17th February. The movie also marks the beginning on the fifth phase of the Marvel Comics Universe (MCU). The movie will also introduce the villain Kang for the first time. With Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in the lead and taking us across the multiverse dimensions, we cannot wait to get started on this journey.

When the first installation of Creed had come in 2015, it wasn’t expected to have such a huge following and success. A part of the Rocky film series that was started way back in 1976 by Sylvester Stallone, the ninth installment- Creed III will star Michael B. Jordan and also be his first attempt at direction. The movie releases on 3rd March.

After a two years delay due to Covid-19, the movie is finally ready to reach the theatres on 24th March. The Keanu Reeves starrer promises to be high action and thriller movie that will keep the love for the franchise up and strong.

After a gap of six years, the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise will be releasing the Vol. 3 on 5th May. The anticipation for this movie is extremely high for the fans as this movie will change the arc of many characters, some may die and some will move on from the MCU. With director James Gunn bringing in some new characters and coming back to direct the movie after some controversy, we are excited to see what the movie has in store.

Set to release on 14th July, the action-spy film starring Tom Cruise and directed by Christopher McQuarrie will be the seventh installment on the Mission: Impossible film series. Delayed due to the pandemic, the movie also marks 27 years of Tom Cruise playing the beloved Ethan Hunt. Additionally, keeping up the excitement we know that the second part of the movie will probably be released next year.

Greta Gerwig is a women whose directorial efforts in Lady Bird and Little Women had earned her nominations for the Academy Award for Best Picture. So, to have our hopes set high for her latest release Barbie is not an understatement. Releasing on 21st July and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, this is the first movie to bring the fashion doll into real life action. With just a teaser trailer, the fans have been left for wanting more and hopefully the movie will not disappoint.

With the master director Christopher Nolan back at work, we can only imagine what the cinematic experience the movie will be. Another one of the upcoming Movies 2023, this biopic on J. Robert Oppenheimer the “father of atomic bomb” – the movie looks promising. Seeing Cillian Murphy in the lead and Emily Blunt and Matt Damon as the star cast, this can be just another of Nolan’s brilliant work.

When we said that this year is going to be big for superhero movies, we meant it! Clearly The Marvel has decided to keep its fans busy with more movies than ever. A sequel to the captain Marvel, this movie will release on 28th July and stars Brie Larson as the lead. The film will also see the debut of Ms.Marvel played by Inam Vellani after the super run on OTT platform with the TV series.

With Timothée Chalamet playing the role of a young Willy Wonka and bringing to life the adventures of the offbeat character from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the movie will release on 15th December. Directed by Paul King, the movie will also show how Wonka met the Oompa-Loompas.

Ending the year on a high note, the DC Extended Universe (DCUE) will see the release of the Aquaman movie on 25th December. With Jason Momoa back as Arthur Curry, the sequel to the 2018 movie was also delayed due to COVID-19. The movie also in the limelight a few months ago during the Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp trial and news about Heard being dropped from her role as Mera had surfaced.
