It’s time to add more fun to your online shopping! YEAY, a video-only shopping app, has announced today that it has officially left beta. The news comes on the heels of a global feature push from Apple App Store. An early discovery from Product Hunt founder Ryan Hoover, YEAY is the first app where products are sold solely through video. The experience is simply, superb.
YEAY bridges the gap between popular video messaging apps and traditional e-commerce. Sellers can showcase their products in a creative way to an audience of digitally-minded trendsetters and buyers. With the public launch, YEAY also introduces in app messaging, a social option of liking and sharing videos, and iMessaging sharing.
“Mobile video shopping is the future. Soon we will view traditional e-commerce websites—which rely only text and images to sell their products—much like we do mail-order catalogues now,” said Melanie Mohr, CEO and Founder of YEAY.
“We found that online shoppers are 86% more likely to make a purchase after watching a product video,” said Mohr. “When buyers get a better view of the product, the return rate decreases by 30%. Additionally, we noticed that buyers are more likely to make a second purchase and buy more products per shopping session when video is available. For brands, YEAY provides the opportunity to create an emotional connection with the buyer through creative videos.”
With it’s public beta launch in June of 2016, the Berlin, Germany based app quickly garnered attention from press and was named as ‘a startup to watch in 2017’ by Forbes. This year it will continue to work with designers, sellers, influencers, and buyers from around the world to position themselves as the next wave of mobile shopping. With hundreds of brands on board and thousands of videos in their library, YEAY is poised for global expansion in 2017.
