Delhi Art Society’s Latest Group Exhibition ‘Samanvay’- a Celebration of Harmony in Art

A Celebration of Harmony in Contemporary Indian Art

In a world that often feels divided—visually, emotionally, and culturally—‘Samanvaya: Line · Colour · Form’ arrives as a refreshing reminder of the beauty of coming together. Presented by Delhi Art Society and curated by Jyoti A Kathpalia, this group exhibition brings into focus the power of artistic dialogue through diversity.

Opening on 20th March at 6:00 pm, the exhibition is set to unfold as a vibrant confluence of ideas, mediums, and artistic journeys—each distinct, yet deeply interconnected.

A Group exhibition from Artists based in New Delhi

What Does ‘Samanvaya’ Really Mean Today?

Rooted in Sanskrit, Samanvaya speaks of harmony, synthesis, and balance. But beyond its literal meaning, it reflects something far more relevant in today’s context—the ability to coexist while retaining individuality.

This idea finds a natural expression in the exhibition. Rather than presenting a singular narrative, *’Samanvaya’ creates space for multiple voices—each artist contributing their own visual language, yet participating in a larger, shared rhythm.

Artist Anju Kaushik and her work’ Relics of flux’ in Mixed media

Artist Anju Kaushik, who is showcasing her sculptural paintings says, “In these wall reliefs, I explore the memory of materials and the transformation of discarded objects. Using concrete, wire, and metal fragments, I reconstruct traces of urban decay into new forms of balance and renewal. My work reflects on time, waste, and resilience — giving forgotten materials a second life through art.”

Where Line, Colour and Form Come Alive

As the title suggests, the exhibition explores three fundamental elements of art—line, colour, and form—not as isolated components, but as living, breathing expressions.

Artist Satish Sharma and his work from his latest works, “Avyakt’

“Artists are seekers of beauty and sight is our tool to explore it. We create what we see and what we feel. The act of seeing and internalizing the visuals is the foundation of my art practice. I firmly believe that pictures taught us to speak, communicate and express”, says participating artist Satish Sharma.

Visitors can expect:

Lines that trace personal journeys, sometimes delicate, sometimes assertive

Colours that evoke emotion, memory, and mood

Forms that shape space—both physical and conceptual

Together, these elements transform the gallery into an immersive visual experience—one that invites viewers to slow down, observe, and connect. At the heart of ‘Samanvaya’ are the artists themselves—seasoned practitioners, whose works reflect years of exploration and evolution.

A Collective of Artistic Journeys

Each artist brings with them a unique perspective—shaped by their individual experiences, mediums, and evolving practices. From painting and printmaking to sculpture, the diversity of works ensures that every viewer finds something that resonates.

Artist Neeraj Gupta and his Sculpture in wood

Neeraj Gupta, who is showcasing his sculptures says, “Art, for me, is a continuous act of participation—with material, with space, and with people. Each work is not just an object, but an invitation to engage, reflect, and rediscover our shared consciousness.”

Delhi Art Society: Building Conversations Through Art

With initiatives like this, the Delhi Art Society continues to strengthen its vision of connecting art with the public. Over the years, it has created platforms that encourage not just viewing, but understanding and participation.

Artist Sunjoy Roy and his work in Abstract

‘Samanvaya’ is yet another step in that direction—bringing together established voices while making contemporary art accessible and meaningful.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss It

Whether you are an art enthusiast, a collector, or simply someone looking to experience something inspiring, ‘Samanvaya: Line · Colour · Form’ offers a moment of pause in an otherwise fast-paced world.

It is about finding connection in contrast, and harmony in diversity—something we could all use a little more of.

Artist Alka Jhamb and her work ‘Coalescence’ Sunboard and oil on canvas

Participating artist “Cities are not static—they live, evolve, and remember. They are more than skylines; they are living organisms shaped by human desire, memory, and motion. Through art, I seek to observe and reorganize this ever-shifting landscape, reconstructing the metropolis not as a fixed place, but as a layered experience of memory, structure, and imagination.” – explains Alka Jhamb who is also participating in the show.
