Triveni Kala Sangam, Sculpture Department, under the guidance of H.o.D renowned sculptor Ms Saroj Jain is all set to present it’s annual students’ group show of sculptures, ‘Prayas’ from 7th-14th February 2020, 11:00 am- 7:00 pm at Sculpture Court, Triveni Kala Sangam, Tansen Marg New Delhi.
The exhibition will feature work of 17 students who will present a myriad collection of sculptures made in bronze and fibre-glass under various themes.
Created over a period of one year, these sculptures are an effort by the students to foray into the world of art through their creations. Apart from the new students, the show will also have works of some of the older students who have been practicing at the sculpture department, for many years.
From realistic to abstract, the sculptures range in variety, medium and presentation; and fall under affordable art. These sculptures are up for sale.
“This is a humble effort from our end to introduce new artists to the industry and we look forward to support from everyone to come and encourage these artists. Since, Triveni Kala Sangam is not a conventional institute for arts, it’s open to all and sundry and thus our students include people from different age groups and walks of life, students as old as 55 years and as young as 21, are all a part of the exhibition. We have people who are working five days a week and who come only on Saturdays to pursue their passion and we have people who have taken a sabbatical from the corporate world to explore their creative instincts further.
We even have housewives who juggle between classes and their home management to indulge in creative aspect of sculptures- overall, the department is an opportunity for everyone to come and learn and enjoy the world of making sculptures in clay,” says Ms Saroj Jain, Head of the Department at Triveni Kala Sangam Sculpture Departement.
