The teetotalers are often left feeling the vacuum once the party is at its peak and everyone’s hanging around with a drink in hand. So, what to do? Here’s a how to be the smarter one and make the most of available resources. This is when life serves you lemons that you head to the bar to make a virgin Mojito!
Instead of feeling left out, you need to see what all is there in the bar, apart from alcohol that makes you celebrate, your choice of not succumbing to something you don’t like, only for the sake of ‘ fitting-in’.
I give you three quick recipes to get the hang of how you can rustle up a quick-fashionable drink, in minutes while all others around keep guessing!
Your choice of glass is very important to make the drink complete. If you someone who likes larger quantities, go for a tall glass, and if you want to look more stylish than gobbling, pick a champagne saucer or flute.
If you have direct access to the bar, nothing like it, but if not just direct the bartender, it makes your work even easier!
Quickest Virgin Mojito:
Take the freshest mint leaves and slightly squeeze them over the glass to let the flavour come out rather fine. Squeeze half a lemon and pour Sprite! Garnish with a thin lemon slice on the rim and yo! You are ready to go.
Virgin Sangria:
Peel the apple and cut smallest possible slices, put them in the glass and top it with a slice of lemon or if you can manage, Malta slice, nothing like it! Pour some mixed fruit till half a glass and then top it up with Mountain Dew or Sprite. You will love it!
Virgin Bloody Mary
Simplest and the best. Try taking a scotch glass or else a tall glass. Cut half a lemon and rub it on the rim of the glass. Take a plate and pour some salt on it. Now invert the glass and let the salt settle on to it. Just give it a light shake to let the extra salt fall off. Pour in tomato juce till about 1/4th glass, squeeze in half a lemon, very little black pepper and pour in some sprite! You have no idea; you have just joined a cult!
Do let us know, how you fared!
